Material: cherry wood. Dimensions: 45 × 45 × 10 cm.
Its basic form is a circular disc. The circle signifies wholeness throughout our folk culture: in dance, music, poetry, fairy tales, ballads, visual art and crafted objects. Our language carries a uniquely logical way of thinking through images, encoded in the spirit of wholeness. Ancestral consciousness holds these codes: the bird, horse, stag and others. By invoking them as part of a thought, setting them in motion within a sculptural disc and evoking wholeness, the work should reach the viewer with healing power. It expresses our task as Hungarians, our responsibility and willingness to make sacrifices for the nation and for humanity.
Recognising this, Dr Árpád Péterffy, the internationally renowned heart surgeon in Debrecen, purchased the work for the Cardiac Surgery Clinic. It has been displayed in the entrance lobby since 1999.
