The sculpture is made from cherry and oak. Three intertwined waves strengthen one another. In the beliefs of our Chaldean ancestors, they symbolise the creative force and the Creator.
The maternal force: AMA PAUL (Primordial Mother).
IZ ‘was’ in the beginning and ‘is’ eternally above all things.
Beneath IZ rested silence, motionlessly bearing PRIMORDIAL MATTER. Primordial matter is PRIMORDIAL WATER, and within that water lies THE PROMISE OF LIFE.
The name of this threefold unity is TEN. Thus, for us, it became IZ-TEN, or ISTEN — God — hovering above the waves. Its sign in the sculpture is △.
IZ = spirit
TEN = matter
IZ-TEN lives within the soul through his mighty power. This is why, according to and through the soul, we call IZ-TEN ÉN-LÉLEK, ÉN-LIL.
PRIMORDIAL WATER is the maternal force that gives birth to life. In our ancient Hungarian religion, she is our mother Boldogasszony, the Blessed Lady.
Through this sculptural language and its symbols, I have attempted to interpret the primordial creative force and present our ancestors’ belief in creation through the essential unity of matriarchal and patriarchal creative power.
